Day 139

7 am seemed to roll around too quickly. I reluctantly crawled out of bed and brewed over a cup of coffee. I started with French and got to learning some new words. While I was doing the work, I seemed to go well with the new words. Hours later, I can only remember a handful. I feel like by the end of the week I should have a good grasp on them though.

Next it was time to workout. Hubby had fluttered off to work and I turned my workup music up loud and busted out a 30 minute workout in 22 minutes. I was feeling a little down when I woke up so I tried to refocus with an extra powerful workout.

Then it was time for the Doodlewash – August 2019 drawing prompts; 5. Sky + 20. Fish. The first thing I thought of was a fish kite at the park. Once I’d drawn the kite, I felt that a beach scene might be more appropriate. I added some waves and palms. I used this as the kite reference.

The afternoon was filled with some socialising. It was more than I wanted. I’m not feeling very chatty or personable. Bah humbug.

Tomorrow is another day and I hope that day is filled with magical memories, fantastic friends and sparkling sundaes for all.

Day 138

I had a little sleep in and it was lovely. Once out of bed I got straight to today’s Doodlewash – August 2019 drawing prompts; 4. Sailing + 19. Waves. (I’m doubling up on prompts so I can still finish at the end of the month.)

The concept of this drawing was easy, a boat on waves. The reality of drawing it was much harder than I expected. I took inspiration from many photos and drawings of this subject. Once I got started it all came together quickly and I feel like this drawing is something I’d like to try painting one day.

My afternoon started with a handful of housework. Normally, in the week before wifey arrives it’s a whirlwind of catch up cleaning and generally trying not to look like we were raised by wolves in the wild. Today we looked around the house and were pleasantly surprised at how little we had to do. It’s almost like we’re adults!!

Once back at the computer I spent a couple of hours going through art blogs. I am obsessed with watercolour art at the moment. It looks so peaceful and calming, with mostly muted and soft colours. I can’t wait to get my hands on some. There are so many amazing and creative people out there. It was very inspiring.

I finished the day with 200 xp points during my French practice. Tomorrow I will start on a new bank of ‘people’ words. I’m kinda terrible at learning. I KNOW that I don’t know the stuff, that’s why I’m learning it but I still get annoyed and frustrated when I don’t know the stuff. I’ll try and leave my frustration under the bed tomorrow and have at it with a good attitude.

I’ve been blogging for a while now but haven’t really dived into a lot of the finer details about my life. I feel like I’m wanting to share some of my past and how I’m working on feeling better about it. It seems it has been unfolding in my mind for a few weeks now. I’m gaining some clarity on my behaviours. This week I’m going to try writing down how I’m feeling. Also, I’ll try and finish my ‘About Me’ page. It has been ignored for a little too long. Oops.

I hope you’ve had an inspiring day.

Day 137

I stayed up too late hanging out with a friend in WoW, while hubby watched the cricket. I think it was nearing 3 am when we finally went to bed. That meant a sleep in. It wasn’t much of a sleep in for me. I knew my afternoon would be taken up with WoW, so I tried to get onto my drawing first thing.

For today’s Doodlewash – August 2019 drawing challenge, I used the prompts; 3. Safari + 18. Toiletries. I created a bathroom scene with safari themed toiletries, and an African inspired landscape. I didn’t have proper light while getting this photo but I really wanted to share it.

There have been some ups and some downs in my day. The ups were fantastic and filled with giggles and good gaming. (Thank you, Paladin.) The downs are irrational and (mostly) self inflicted but they’ve left me feeling anxious and agitated. I know it won’t last. I have lots of things to be happy about.

I hope your weekend has been filled with fun, laughs, creativity and the ever watchful eye of your local giraffe.

Day 136

The day started around 6 am. I sat on the sofa, stared at the computer and nothing happened. 30 minutes later I opened Duolingo for today’s French practice. I was averaging between 16 – 18 correct each round. I was able to reach 200 xp points in under 30 minutes.

Once hubby had cartwheeled off to work (he didn’t but he should have,) I started my workout. With my playlist turned up loud, I busted through the workout in 20 minutes. That’s a new record. Even though I was going faster, I don’t feel like it was any less of a workout. Also a few hours later, I didn’t feel as body fatigued as I felt earlier in the week.

Next it was time for today’s Doodlewash – August 2019 topic; 2. Shoes + 17. Food. I decided to draw a picnic scene, with waterfall and the cityscape in the background. At first I was going to draw a pair of shoes that had been left on the picnic blanket but it didn’t seem to fill the space well. So I added someone wearing shoes instead.

Half my day was taken up with this drawing, it was an epic attempt. Once it was done (once I put the pencil down and forced myself to not pick it back up), I spent a couple of hours singing. I tried singing a couple of new songs. The biggest problem is, I barely know the songs. Learning them is on my to do list for next week.

I topped off the day with a glorious nap. When I can relax and not feel guilty about napping, they sure do help.

I hope your day has been filled with delicious food, relaxing and encouraging words. You’re a magnificent person, with so much to offer the world. Keep smiling.

Happy weekend.

Day 135

The morning seems like a blur now. I think I woke before hubby and stared vacantly until a hot cup of coffee magically appeared in my hands. It was most likely hubby who made it. That is questionable though. Every day I play a fascinating game of ‘Husband or Ghost’. Every time he goes to work, I walk into the kitchen to see a whole bunch of kitchen cupboards left open. Maybe the ghost made my coffee.

The coffee was the fuel I needed to power through 200 xp in French. There are still a couple of words that I forget but mostly it was a good practice.

Hubby left for work and I got to working out. It wasn’t my best work. My body has been particularly achy the last few days. I’m still sure it’s the workout and not stress related. I’m not feeling stressed. It’s getting me down though. Despite that, I finished my workout in under 30 minutes.

Next it was time to find a new drawing challenge. I wanted to join a current one and have decided to be inspired by Doodlewash – August 2019 prompts. Because I’m starting half way through, I will be doubling up on prompts so I can still finish by the end of the month.

The prompts I used today are; 1. Travel Painting Kit and 16. Beach. I drew a girl at the beach with her painting kit. It’s a bit rough around the edges.

It was another day where I tapped out in the afternoon and took a very long and very glorious nap. I saw some cool info on ‘napping‘ on Pinterest. It’s good for my health, so why not enjoy it? My naps are too long but I always take one at the right time.

I hope your day has been filled with trying new things, big sunshine-y smiles and a relaxing view that could refresh your soul.
