Day 316

I meditated last night using one of my favourite guides; GUIDED SLEEP MEDITATION for Healing, and promptly fell asleep. I don’t remember taking the ear buds out and I had a pretty good sleep on a humid night. When morning rolled around, I turned over and went back to sleep. I got up just as hubby was leaving and really didn’t want to start the day.

I was slow to the art-ing and finished the day with French. Not my finest of days. I just haven’t felt very good mentally or physically and sometimes I can’t push through it. I wish I’d spent the day in bed.

I’ve really been wanting to try a few boat scenes for my watercolour. I chose a simple sailboat to reference. I don’t think I even finished it. I painted for a while and then… I was done. Not really happy with this attempt. I should probably have stuck to land and painted another lighthouse.

In today’s Adventures of Arthur Puddles we find him celebrating Jell-o week in the strangest of ways. He made a giant jell-o and climbed inside. Douglas sat and watched curiously.

While reading up on Jell-o Week, I read a great quote about jell-o…

The official report of Dick Solomon, the High Commander of the troops in 3rd Rock from the Sun, described how to deal with an unsuspecting serving of Jello:
“What To Do When You Encounter Jell-O:
1. Never let it see you’re afraid. Jell-O loves this.
2. Smile. Say you are a friend, you come in peace.
3. Reason with it.
4. Offer it a gift.
5. Find out what it wants.
6. Let it see you have no weapons.
7. If it continues to jiggle menacingly, Stab it to death with a kitchen knife and throw it in the sink.”

I hope that your day is filled with good decisions, good friends and good food. Enjoy your day.

  1. That puddles is a kick! 😊 Re your sailboat, I have “several” I feel the same way about, my let’s-see solution is to let them sit, actually hang on a pin on the wall, along with the others like it, letting it catch my eye unaware – sometimes, eventually, I get an idea of what to add, small to whatever, lol, and it works. And if it doesn’t, well, it wasn’t working for me anyways 😊

    1. Thanks so much. I love how the jell-o Puddles turned out. Such a fun one. xD

Yeah, that’s a very good idea. I usually sit my latest work on my desk so I can look at it often.

I’ve never really gone back and tried to fix or change anything though. I see these as quick practices for a beginner so it doesn’t matter if I finish or not. xD

      I hope you’re having a creative week. =)

      1. So true, Tilly; and if you do go back & tinker w/one, that’s ok too; it’s your creative experience & only you can decide what/when/or if; and ‘that’ I think, is where the jello-o Puddles comes from I think, from you! ❤️

      2. It’s a wonderful thing to have, pursue, and sometimes look back on, one’s own creative outlet(s) – it’s like the heart beats of one’s life in some ways I think, reflecting the times, family, so much! ❤️
