It was an early start to the day and I indulged in too many ‘Good Mythical Morning‘ episodes, while indulging in too many coffees. Once 8.30 am came around I was bouncing and ready to workout. It was another solid workout. I’ve really been pushing hard this week and for the most part, it’s been feeling great.
Then I moved on to art. It’s been… a day. I really wanted to try creating art with charcoal and pencil. I had a couple of ideas and just jumped in to try them. The charcoal was a lot messier than I thought and it didn’t apply well over the pencil. Even though it’s a bit of a disaster, there is something about it I like.

I tried a couple of pencil and ink sketches but I only finished the sketch of a ladybug and flowers. With a little digital help, the colours turned out pretty nice. I’m proud of myself for trying to do my own thing with no references.

I also worked on French and started putting together my plan for ‘Project Penguin’ that will run for all of 2020. I have about half a years worth of ideas already. I feel like I’m biting off more than I can chew but what’s life without a challenge or two?
I hope your day has been filled with the things you love.
Tilly
You should be proud of yourself too, looking great.

Thanks, Elaine. It was fun experimenting with pencil and charcoal, even if I’m still not sure I should have! lol. I hope you’re having a top week!!

Your drawings are good, especially the sunset.

Thank you. The sunset was an experiment with pencil and charcoal. I like working with charcoal but I missed having colour. xD It’s always fun to try new things!

I have got some charcoal but am yet to try it . I am currently doing an Online Landscape Painting Course, it’s for beginners- intermediate. I consider myself to be a beginner. I am learning about light, colour, atmospheric perspective plus lots of other technical stuff.

That’s fantastic. I’m a beginner too and don’t know much about the technical stuff. I should look into some online courses.
I hope you’re having a creative week. =)

I have started making Christmas Cards, don’t have too many to do.
With my course I have been some exercises on different effect or time of day has on the same scene. Tomorrow I will be working on a landscape with a dull day. I will post the homework on my blog site after the weekend.

Jolie coucher de soliel! And if u feel comfortable enough to venture into the yard may b try collecting a few bugs and plants to use as references – Je pense it’s always a good idea to draw from life- at least when u r starting out.

Merci beaucoup. =) I’m a little scared of bugs, so I won’t be collecting those. I think for the time being I’ll just have to stick to referencing photos. xD
