Day 199

I haven’t been getting enough sleep and it hasn’t been helping my memory problems. The day seems like a blur and I’m tired. I spent the morning doing casual things with wifey and a friend. We had fun. There was also a little French.

Once it was time to art, I spent a good two hours looking for inspiration for Inktober and Doodlewash prompts, and I failed to find anything. I was feeling disappointed so decided to try watercolouring a sketch I had done about a week ago. I used this reference of a street in Sighișoara, Romania.

I was going to limit myself to three layers so I went pretty heavy on the first one. That didn’t leave a lot of room for getting colour that I wanted and just ended up washing very dark areas a number of times. I finished with a fine Artline ink pen. I found it really hard using this type of pen over watercolour. Next time I’ll use my Tombow pens.

While I wasn’t overly happy with this attempt, it’s something I’d like to try again. Today wasn’t the day for that. That was all the art I managed.

Tomorrow is the first day of the weekend for us and it is also day 200 of my journey. I will try and do something special to celebrate.

I hope you’re having an amazing weekend. Take care of yourself.

P.S: We’ve either got a ghost or an electrical problem in the bedroom. Fingers crossed it’s a ghost. (We unplugged the air cooler to be on the safe side.)

I'm on a life changing journey to 40. There will be ups, there will be downs. I'm like a roller coaster but with more agoraphobia.

  1. It’s amazing how much of an effect on your “with- it-ness” one poor night of sleep can have-and everything else for that matter. Hope you can get some restorative rest.

      1. It’s been a blast- but the week will be even better since I will be able to sleep in my own bed and be in my own house! 😊
