I woke up on time and felt excited about the day. I spoiled myself with some casual games and coffee and waited for hubby to scurry off to work. Once he is out of the house, that seems to be the official start of my day.
It took too long to get to working out but eventually it happened and I pushed myself pretty hard. I feel like those two weeks of sickness really set me back when it comes to working out. Things feel harder than they should and my body is just tired. Bleh.
Next it was time to tackle the Doodlewash – September 2019 prompt; 20. Bricks. (I know I missed one and I’ll share it after this.) I felt a bit disappointed that my first watercolour adventure would be bricks.
When I searched for some inspiration, I found so many amazing watercolour bricks on gorgeous buildings. Just wow!!! I didn’t want to copy somebody else’s painting so I found a reference picture of a building front with bricks.
Before today I had not used watercolour pencils. I wasn’t sure how to use them. I coloured a little, then added a little water. I kept repeating the process until I had something I was okay with. I then finished the line work with greyscale ink pens.

Doodlewash – September 2019 on Three Peas, One Pod
Working with watercolour pencil is so interesting. The colours are a lot different from the original colour after you add the water. It took more water than I expected. I need to add more layers of colour in my next attempt.
As I mentioned I had skipped posting about the Doodlewash – September 2019 prompt; 19. Tea. I sketched this on normal paper and coloured it in with watercolour pencils. I didn’t use water.

I finished the day with some lazy French. I worked through some of the ‘Restaurant’ level and got a lot of it right but mainly because they’re very close to English words. More practice, more practice.
The day was mildly productive. I really want to fit more things in but I waste a lot of time thinking. If life changing was a job (and it kinda is), I’d be fired. Maybe I should keep that in mind when I set out on tomorrows tasks.
I hope your day has been enjoyable. You’re a wonderful person, with a fantastic smile.
Tilly

The watercolour pencils will take some getting used to but they are so much fun to work with. ^^ Thanks for the feedback. Take care.
