A new week has officially started (Hubby’s weekend is Sunday and Monday) and I was a little bit excited. Last week I worked on lots of creative things and I knew this week would be filled with the same. A new Happy List is in play and I’m already achieving.
I woke up a little bit late but that didn’t stop me from working out as soon as the clock struck 8.30 am. I was so tempted to add another 15 minutes to the workout but I’ll keep doing what I”m doing for at least another week.
After a hot shower, I dived back under robe and blanket and did about an hour of writing. I only set a goal of 20 minutes but once I start, it’s hard to stop.
The last two paintings I have done were based on photos I took on a shore day in Akaroa, New Zealand. It is one of my favourite stops and I have many photos to prove it. I wanted my next couple of paintings to continue in the series but I knew that it was time to start drawing them properly before attempting to paint them.
That’s what I did today. I made an outline of the canvas I use and started drawing. This picture was hard. I didn’t do so good on the size and ended up leaving out a lot of the details on the sidewalk, like tables and people. Doing the drawing has given me a much better idea of how to paint it. I’m still going to try.
I didn’t spend a lot of time practising French but I was really pleased with how I did. I only got a handful of questions wrong and I always beat the timer. A few more days practice and I’ll move on to new words.
Before bed I’d like to start on a new knitting project. It’ll be attempt number three for a pair of gloves. I have made a very long list of what each row will be. I will try making the current row ‘bold’ and then cross it out when it’s done. If that doesn’t help me keep track, then I’ll need to hire someone to stand beside me and remember.
Day 3: What are you top five pet peeves?
- People being bullies. *
- When someone asks a question but doesn’t wait for you to answer. *
- Cats wandering the neighbourhood. *
- Door knockers selling goods, services or religion.
- All commercials. I get your point. I get you have to do the thing in under 30 seconds but they’re always so weird, awkward, unrealistic and intrusive.
* These answers are the same as answered in the 30 Day Writing Challenge.
If I can be in bed before 11 pm, then I will be happy with my efforts today. It’ll be nice to get a little extra sleep before jumping into another day of creative bliss. Creative sure does feel good.
