Day 64

The day started early and it started after 4 hours sleep. Hubby had an early start and I got up to keep him company. Once he’d wandered off to work I started my morning, early!

I got straight into my workout. I enjoyed it. I worked pretty hard, probably more than I should of because I forgot how many reps I’d done, so had to do more, just to be sure.

After that I tried to do some more purl knitting practice. Two failed attempts later and I put down the knitting needles and did some singing. That lasted a couple of hours and just before midday I decided to do some painting.

I have been collecting pictures of palm trees, knowing that I’d try painting them one day and today was that day.

The first painting I tried was a silhouette of a palm tree.

The second was a palm leaf.

It was a great experience working out how to layer colours. One thing I noticed is I’m very heavy handed. I was able to get a couple of very thin neat lines but most were followed with an ‘oops’. For more pictures and information, please visit Three Peas, One Pod.

Once I had put my paints away and took at least 100 photos of them, I got a little housework done and put my feet up. It’s been a lovely full day of creativity.

I finished the day with a French lesson, well a French refresher. For the next few days I’ll just keep doing the practice lessons, until I feel completely sure how to use the ‘apelles words. Hubby has been learning over my shoulder. He’s been helping me to remember what words get used for the feminine and the masculine. It would be great to know why a pizza is female.

I’m going to try and find some painting or writing challenges soon, just to help me stay focused creatively. If I have to rely on my brain, we could just see a never ending supply of palm trees and flamingos.

I'm on a life changing journey to 40. There will be ups, there will be downs. I'm like a roller coaster but with more agoraphobia.
